One person was arrested and poppy husk weighing 129 kilograms was recovered from his possession in Nownanagri village in Pulwama district, according to the police.

Srinagar, March 26:  One person was arrested and poppy husk weighing 129 kilograms was recovered from his possession in Pulwama district, police said.

Acting on tip-off, police intercepted a vehicle in Nownagri village in Phulwama and recovered the contraband, they said.

The driver of the vehicle, Mehrajuddin Matta of Charsoo village, was arrested, they said, adding a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (BDPS) Act has been registered against him.
